You have to admit: Serenity is rarely serene. She has her moments. But in terms of naming, dubbing the Firefly-class ship “Serenity” was probably wishful thinking. And, yes, we know she’s named after the Battle of Serenity Valley (see: also not serene).

This is a heather grey and black henley with Firefly proudly printed on the chest. It also features a picture of Serenity herself, bookended by the Hanzi for “serenity” (the version used in the movie). And then underneath it has her name and the year “2517.” Why 2517? Well, that’s when most of the TV series took place. Good a year as any, how we see it.
